S.W.A.T.

South Davis Metropolitan S.W.A.T. Team is made up of members from the Bountiful Police Department, Centerville Police Department, Farmington Police Department, Kaysville Police Department, Woods Cross Police Department, and the West Bountiful Police Department.

S.W.A.T. stands for Special Weapons and Tactics.  The S.W.A.T. team is compromised of two elements: Tactical Response and Crisis Negotiations. The South Davis Metropolitan S.W.A.T. Team is part of the Crisis Response Unit.

S.W.A.T. teams respond to non-routine situations that the patrol division doesn’t have the personnel, time, equipment, or training to address.  The S.W.A.T. team’s primary objective is to resolve issues as safely as possible.  They do this by attempting to isolate the problem, utilize negotiators to negotiate the safe release of victims and hostages, and facilitate the peaceful surrender of suspects.
